A liberating fury rips through bodies like a social and Dionysian storm, violent but luminous. Lia Rodrigues delivers an impressionistic metaphor of life in the favelas. Fúria is rife with surreal and whimsical processions, tremors and orgies, shamanic imagery and borderline states, where sexual desire, violence and beauty are mixed up in a carnival-like frenzy.

Deeply influenced by her stint with Maguy Marin, Lia Rodrigues creates pieces informed by the social reality of Brazil and sublimates the vital energy that is profoundly rocking the country.
