By staying very close to the Grimm Brother’s story, Angelin Preljocaj revives the narrative form with Snow White. It is not naive to choose to base a dance on a fable, it is in keeping with the classical ballet tradition to want to use magical theatrical machinery against an enchanted design and to base the style on a blue-print. On stage are 26 dancers of the company who embark on a new comedy-ballet to dance enchanted in front of a mirror, “a small, precious mirror”.
