This solo, created by Anuang’A, is an invitation to travel. This young Kenyan dancer choreographer brings a modern style to traditional Massai dance, with exceptional artistic ability. There is a rhythmic force and musical production in the body of the dancer; the voice comes from the impact of feet on the floor and the sound of the jewellery is enough to awaken the ancestral memory of his dance. A journey into the future is a personal narrative of an apprenticeship in contemporary convention, while never turning his back on tradition.
